Install and Updates

RCA Timeline ships as mod_rca_timeline_{version}.zip. The manifest element is mod_rca_timeline. Every retail ZIP includes the public update feed URL in the manifest updateservers block so Joomla can register the update site on install or upgrade.

Fresh install

Download the ZIP from the RCA free extensions area or install from a copy your workflow provides. Upload through Extensions, Manage, Install, then create and publish a site module instance.

Upgrade from MX Timeline

Do not install mod_rca_timeline over mod_mx_timeline as an in-place upgrade. Unpublish or uninstall the old module, install mod_rca_timeline, and recreate module instances with the same category and layout settings.

Joomla updater

Open System, Update, Extensions and check for updates the way you do for other RCA free products. If no update appears, confirm the installed build is a retail RCA ZIP with the public updateserver entry and that your site can reach recreatinganew.com.

Uninstall

Uninstalling removes module files and cached thumbnails the module may have created under images. It does not delete articles or categories.
