Install and Updates

Standard Joomla plugin install. No disk patches to Helix templates. Your follow-up work is switches, Feed Factory fieldsets, and spot checks on real articles.

Install

Open System → Install → Extensions and upload the Helix Compat ZIP. Open System → Plugins and enable System - RCA Helix Compat when Joomla did not enable it automatically. If Helix Format or Media Bridge were installed, confirm the installer disabled those rows. Open plugin settings, review Feature switches, and Save.

Clear cache

Clear Joomla cache under System → Clear Cache and any opcode or CDN cache you control before you judge frontend blog layouts from a stale render.

Upgrade Compat

Install the newer ZIP over the existing plugin from https://recreatinganew.com. Re-open options and confirm every switch and Media Bridge sync setting still matches your intent. Re-test one import and one article save. Clear cache again.

Uninstall

Prefer Super User disable first if you want Media Bridge ledger restore behavior documented for your version. Then uninstall from System → Manage → Extensions. Feed Factory continues to work. New imports stop writing Helix format attribs when Helix Format was On. Existing attribs and image fields remain until you edit, re-import, or restore them. Expect first-write-wins ledger restore where supported. Keep a normal site backup regardless.
