Separate install patch failures from runtime stream, emoji, and paste issues. Collect versions and error text before you edit vendor files by hand.
EasySocial updates overwrite patched files. Take a backup or use staging. Update EasySocial as StackIdeas documents, then update or reinstall RCA EasySocial Compat so patches run again. Read install messages for success or target-changed warnings. Clear Joomla cache, opcode cache, and CDN if present. Retest login, stream, photos, stories, article publish and edit, emoji, and paste.
That means EasySocial’s files no longer match expected patch points. Note EasySocial version and the exact warning. Email
Confirm Compat is still enabled. Clear cache. If you disabled Compat earlier, re-enable it and retest with one publish and two edits on the same article. Confirm you are looking at the article app stream, not unrelated activity types.
Read install messages. If patches did not apply, the fatal may be an unpatched path on your EasySocial build. Send exact PHP error text with versions. Partial patch success still leaves other break points unfixed.
Confirm Enable story photo paste is Yes. Confirm you are in the story composer. Confirm the clipboard actually holds an image file. Text links do not count. Clear cache and hard-refresh. Confirm the old Photo Paste plugin is not still loaded beside Compat.
Remove stale template overrides for smileys or story layouts. Confirm EasySocial emoticons are enabled. Clear cache and hard-refresh. Test after Compat 1.2.3 or newer where picker assets load through document APIs.
Disabling Compat can restore EasySocial default stream_create and stream_update behavior over time depending on parameters. Test article publishing after disable. Restoring patched files may require .rca-orig copies or site backup if you need vendor originals back.
