Quick Start

RCA AddMenuItem — User guide

Install and enable

Install mod_addmenuitem from your RCA download. In System → Manage → Administrator modules, open RCA AddMenuItem, set status to Published, and assign it to the administrator menu/module positions your template uses for editor toolbars (same placement you used for prior versions).

Add an article to a menu (three steps)

1. Open Content → Articles, edit an article.

2. Click Add to Menu on the toolbar.

3. In the popup, set Menu Item Title (defaults to the article title), confirm Alias if needed, choose Parent menu location, set Status, Access, Language, and any layout options, then save.

You stay on the article edit screen. The new menu item appears under the parent you selected.

Title and alias behavior

  • Title is stored exactly as you enter it in the popup (spaces and punctuation preserved).
  • Alias defaults from the article’s alias field. It is shown as stored on the content record; Joomla menu alias rules apply when you save.

Use AMI when you publish articles often and want menu creation without leaving the editor. Use core Menus when you prefer the standard Menus UI only.
