Quick Start

This quick start gets one known-good RSS or Atom feed from URL to Joomla article with manual fetch before you trust cron. It assumes you purchased pkg_rca_feedfactory and run Joomla 4, 5, or 6 with PHP 8.1 or newer.

Before you upload the Pro package

Take a full site and database backup, especially if you migrate from RSS Factory Pro. Confirm outbound HTTP from the server reaches remote feed URLs, not only your laptop browser. Plan Joomla scheduled tasks or server cron for production; manual fetch alone is for testing and recovery, not a long-term import strategy.

Install the suite and enable core plugins

Open System, then Install Extensions, and upload pkg_rca_feedfactory from https://recreatinganew.com. Confirm Joomla installed com_rca_feedfactory, both site modules, and the system, content, finder, and search plugins listed in Overview. Open System, then Plugins, and enable plg_system_rca_feedfactory and plg_content_rca_feedfactory at minimum. Enable Finder and Search plugins only if you need those indexes.

Add one feed and map Import2Content

Open Components, RCA Feed Factory, add one public RSS or Atom URL you trust, set target category and Import2Content basics for publish state and author, and map title and body fields conservatively. Save the feed record. Run manual fetch once from administrator and confirm articles appear in the target category with sensible title and body.

Wire Pro updates and schedule fetch

Confirm Extensions manager uses RCA’s private Pro update channel for this package because free public feeds will not serve Feed Factory 6.0.x. Create a Joomla scheduled task or server cron entry that runs fetch on the interval you need, then verify last run after one cycle.

How you know it worked

Manual fetch creates or updates articles in the chosen category with title and body matching your map. Scheduled fetch adds new remote items without you babysitting admin. If you use Helix Compat, confirm Feed Factory version meets the companion gates described in Integrations before you blame Helix for format or image issues.
