Quick Start

Short path for a Feed Factory plus Helix site that imports media enclosures and cares about blog layouts.

Prerequisites

Confirm Joomla 4, 5, or 6 with PHP 8.1 or newer. Install Helix Ultimate or Helix3 from JoomShaper when you use Helix layouts. For format import, install RCA Feed Factory 6.0.18 or newer first. Download plg_system_rca_helix_compat 1.0.0 or newer from https://recreatinganew.com. Take a normal site backup before bulk image sync tests.

Install and enable

Open System → Install → Extensions and upload the Helix Compat ZIP. Enable System - RCA Helix Compat from System → Plugins if needed. Confirm legacy Helix Format or Media Bridge plugins were disabled when the installer found them.

Set switches

Open plugin options and review Feature switches for Helix Format and Media Bridge, then Save. Leave both On for the common Feed Factory plus Helix blog case. Turn Helix Format Off if you only need image sync. Turn Media Bridge Off if you only need format writing on import.

One import test and one image test

In Feed Factory Import2Content, enable Apply Helix blog format on one feed, pick Video Gallery or Audio as appropriate, import one item, and confirm Helix media fields populated. Edit one article with a core intro image and empty Helix featured field under fill-empty mode and confirm the empty side filled after save.

Retire old plugins

Uninstall separate RCA Helix Format and Media Bridge packages after tests pass. Do not leave them enabled beside Compat.
