Troubleshooting

Conditional Products problems cluster into three buckets: plugin not enabled, rule membership wrong or empty after save, and confusing Storefront appearance with open checkout. Start in the bucket that matches the symptom instead of reinstalling random ZIPs.

Dependents always buy without qualifier

Confirm J2Commerce - RCA Conditional Products is enabled in System → Plugins. Confirm the rule is enabled. Confirm dependent product IDs are actually on the rule by re-opening the rule after save. Clear Joomla cache. Test in a private browser window with a non-admin account.

Qualifier present but dependents stay blocked

Re-save the rule on the current package. Confirm the qualifier ID matches the product in cart. Confirm whether the rule expects cart presence versus order history eligibility toggles. Confirm order state IDs match completed orders when using history. Clear cache. If the current package still fails after re-save, contact support with package version and exact product IDs.

Rule looks empty or missing products after save

Upgrade to pkg_rca_condprod 1.0.9 or newer for ProductMultiselect save fixes. Re-enter products, save, re-open and verify membership, clear cache. Report to support if the current package still drops selections with steps to reproduce.

Storefront looks locked but checkout works

Conditional Products enforcement is off or misruled. Enable J2Commerce - RCA Conditional Products and fix the rule. RCA Storefront cannot enforce cart. This symptom is so common it should be a poster in the admin office.

Booking still open before purchase

Confirm System - RCA Conditional Products OSB is installed and enabled. Confirm it gates the route or menu you actually use for booking. Confirm qualifier state matches your test account. Clear cache and stale session. Without the OSB gate plugin, strict cart rules do not automatically silence booking calendars.

Hold works but cart is wrong or empty after booking

That is RCA OSB to J2C Bridge sid_map or product purchasability, not Conditional Products rule titles. Fix Bridge map rows and J2Commerce product publish state. Retest hold to cart without changing Conditional Products qualification logic unless booking gate blocks before hold.

Installer fails immediately

J2Commerce is missing. Install the shop first, then install pkg_rca_condprod. Expected failure is better than a site that pretends rules work.

After upgrade weirdness

Re-enable plugins Joomla may have disabled. Re-save every critical rule. Re-open each rule to confirm lists. Clear cache. Retest cart and OSB gate separately from RCA Storefront display if Storefront also updated.
