Installation

Install pkg_rca_jea_basic through the Joomla extension installer. The package unpacks child ZIPs for the component, modules, and plugins in one pass. Do not install obsolete ZIPs from archive folders; use the current public feed build.

Updates

Use the Joomla updater when the site manifest lists the RCA public updateserver for pkg_rca_jea_basic. Read CHANGELOG before production upgrades; releases 1.0.24 through 1.0.27 include Joomla 4.4 administrator form and permission fixes.

Migrating from original JEA (com_jea)

com_jea and com_rca_jea are different extension elements. Export from legacy JEA, install pkg_rca_jea_basic on staging, recreate reference data (departments → states), then import through Gateways. See COMPATIBILITY.md in the package for table and column mapping.

Uninstall

Gateway-export or back up property data before uninstall. Uninstall runs extension SQL uninstall scripts and drops RCA JEA tables; treat backups as mandatory on live property sites.
