Quick Start

Minimum steps when lesson edit fatals on PHP 8 and you already accept a single-file vendor patch.

Before install

Install OSCampus first. Confirm Joomla 4, 5, or 6 with PHP 8.1 or newer. Log in as Super User. Download the current package from https://recreatinganew.com. Read the CODE HACK warning on the product page. Take a full site and database backup.

Install and enable

Open System → Install → Extensions and upload the Compat ZIP. Enable System - RCA OSCampus Compat if Joomla did not enable it automatically. Read the install message. It repeats the CODE HACK warning and lists the target path and the .rca-orig backup path.

Verify on staging

Open OSCampus and create or edit a lesson on a staging copy first. Confirm the previous PHP 8 trait property fatal no longer appears. On disk, confirm AbstractBase.php contains the typed app property fix and that AbstractBase.php.rca-orig exists beside it after the first successful patch.

Clear cache

Clear Joomla cache under System → Clear Cache and any opcode cache you control so admin does not serve stale opcode from before the patch.

There are no day-to-day switches. Leave the plugin enabled so Joomla keeps the extension record.
