Troubleshooting

Split format import problems from image sync problems. Confirm Feed Factory version and plugin switches before you re-import half your catalog in anger.

After a Feed Factory update

Reconfirm Feed Factory is still 6.0.18 or newer when you rely on Helix Format. Open Import2Content and verify the Helix Format fieldset still appears. Re-test one feed item with Apply Helix blog format enabled before you bulk-run history. Clear Joomla cache after upgrade.

After a Helix template update

Helix updates do not remove Compat because Compat does not patch Helix files on disk. They can change which layout handles a format or which attribs keys the template reads. Re-save a sample article, clear cache, and confirm the active blog layout in Helix options still matches the format you import. If frontend looks wrong while admin attribs look right, suspect template layout selection or cache, not missing Compat reinstall for disk patches.

Imports still land as Standard posts

Confirm Helix Format is On, Apply Helix blog format is enabled on that feed, format is Video Gallery or Audio rather than Standard, the plugin is enabled, Feed Factory is 6.0.18 or newer with the fieldset visible, enclosure or media is present on the feed item, and you inspected article attribs rather than only a cached frontend render.

Video URL broken or empty

Confirm the enclosure or embed exists on the feed item, the host is in the normalization set, and the raw enclosure opens in a browser. If the source URL is dead, Compat cannot invent a working one. Featured images for video posts are Media Bridge work, not Helix Format.

Gallery imports look empty

Confirm the feed carried multiple media URLs or enclosures, the feed rule maps gallery format, and Helix gallery layout is active. One lonely enclosure is a video or audio story, not a gallery.

Nothing image-syncs

Confirm Media Bridge is On, the target field is not already filled under fill-empty, you are looking at the correct Helix3 or Ultimate fields, sync mode is not Off, and cache is cleared.

Wrong image after sync

The source field already held that path. Fix the source and re-save. If body scrape picked the first inline image instead of the hero, set the intro image manually and turn scrape off.

Legacy plugins still enabled

Disable RCA Helix Format or Media Bridge if they still run beside Compat. Use Compat only.

SP Page Builder blank hero

Sync Helix and core with Media Bridge On first, then confirm the addon reads the field you filled. Compat does not rewrite layout JSON.
