Configuration

Module options live under Content, Site Modules, your RCA Timeline instance, Module tab. The Settings fieldset is grouped by section headings: Layout, Article settings, and Images settings. Save after changes and reload the front-end page.

Layout

Layout selects the tmpl style (default through style12, plus horizontal style9). Custom Color and Text Color appear for styles that support them. Font awesome toggles bundled icon CSS if icons look wrong on your template.

Article selection

Select Category limits articles to chosen com_content categories. Child Category Articles controls whether subcategory articles are included. Tags filters by Joomla tags when set. Featured Articles can show all, hide featured, or show featured only. Count limits how many articles load; zero means no limit in helper logic—use a sensible number on busy sites.

Ordering

Article Field to Order By and Ordering Direction control sort order. Horizontal layout (style9) works best with Created Date and Ascending; the module shows a reminder in options when that style is selected.

Display fields

Options control category title, item title, description length, author, date format, read-more link, and link target (same window, new window, or popup). Image settings choose intro/fulltext/inline sources, resize mode, dimensions, and placeholder path defaulting to media/mod_rca_timeline/images/noimage.jpg.

Module Class Suffix, alternative layout, and caching follow standard Joomla module behavior.
