Overview

RCA Storefront is the Pro presentation layer for J2Commerce on Joomla 4, 5, and 6. You publish the Product Catalog module on pages where you want a curated product grid instead of dumping an entire category and hoping the right SKUs float to the top. Cart, checkout, and single-product detail pages stay on J2Commerce. Storefront displays products. It does not take payment and it does not enforce purchase rules by itself.

What this product is

RCA Storefront ships as package pkg_rca_storefront, documented here at version 1.2.5. The package installs lib_rca_storefront, the shared library that holds catalog rendering helpers, and mod_rca_product_catalog, the site module administrators publish as RCA Product Catalog. Together they render product cards, comparison tables, carousels, and optional eligibility styling when RCA Conditional Products is installed.

What Storefront does not do

Storefront is not a shop engine and not a payment layer. It does not create Conditional Products rules. It does not map OS Services Booking services to J2Commerce products; that is RCA OSB to J2C Bridge. A card that looks locked is still only styling until RCA Conditional Products enforces the cart through its J2Commerce plugin.

Who should use it

Use Storefront when you run J2Commerce and want intentional catalog pages: manual product lists, category-driven grids, or rule-driven sets when RCA Conditional Products is installed. Use it when you want comparison or carousel layouts beyond the core J2Commerce Products module defaults. Use it when you sell gated add-ons and want dependents to look locked on the catalog while RCA Conditional Products handles real refusal at checkout.

Three practical modes on one site

Mode A is a standard shop grid with J2Commerce plus Storefront only. Mode B adds RCA Conditional Products for rule selection or lock styling on cards while enforcement stays on the J2Commerce Conditional Products plugin. Mode C adds RCA OSB to J2C Bridge when you want OS Services Booking duration or availability text on cards for mapped products. Most listing pages need Mode A. Modes B and C stack when your business actually sells gates and bookings, not because the marketing page sounded impressive.

Where to go next

Quick start publishes one module with manual product IDs. Configuration walks every module field from the manifest. Integrations explains how Storefront sits beside RCA Conditional Products and RCA OSB to J2C Bridge without swapping their jobs.
