All behavior is configured on the site module instance under Content → Site Modules. The companion plugin has no user-facing options beyond enable and ordering.
Anchor branch (recommended): The module should appear on every page under the anchor menu item. Requires the branch visibility plugin enabled. Use this for documentation areas with many child Itemids.
Menu assignment tab only: Joomla loads the module only where the Menu Assignment tab explicitly lists the page Itemid. Use this only for small, fixed page sets or debugging.
Menu: Menutype to read (must match where your doc items live).
Anchor menu item: Root of the doc area. Hide outside anchor and branch visibility both key off this item. Pick the same item readers think of as “Documents,” not a random child article.
Hide outside anchor: When Yes, the module renders nothing outside the anchor branch. When No, the module can still run elsewhere if assignment allows it (usually not what you want for a doc sidebar).
Depth for section headers — the labels that group product families (Bugfixes, Free Extensions, Pro Extensions). If your anchor is level 1, section level 2 is the usual choice. The module may bump section level to anchor level + 1 automatically if you set it too shallow.
Depth for product documentation roots (for example RCA Themer Docs). Hubs accordion: only the active hub shows children. Default 3 when sections are level 2. Must be deeper than section level.
Limits how many menu levels appear under the active hub. Zero means all descendants. Use a number if you want only immediate children (for example hub plus one level of article links).
Yes: other hubs in the active section appear as links without their subtree. No: only the active hub shows at hub level (narrower nav, less context).
Yes: list every section under the anchor; only the active section’s hubs expand with children. No: restrict to the active section only (minimal sidebar).
Menu tag ID, alternate layout, module class suffix, and caching behave like other Joomla modules. For documentation sidebars, start with caching off while validating menu levels.
With anchor branch mode, tick the anchor Itemid (or a small parent set). You do not need every child doc page ticked. Without the plugin, you must tick every Itemid manually — avoid that on large trees.
