How to Guides

These guides assume pkg_rca_jukebox 2.0.3 or newer is installed and you already uploaded audio to Media Manager. They walk common layouts module by module so you are not guessing which extension to publish.

Landing page with a hero player

Publish mod_rca_jukebox in a prominent template position on your home or campaign menu item. Open the module, load tracks through the subform or media fields, and save. Turn on sticky library player behavior if visitors should keep listening while they open other menu items. Assign Menu Assignment to that landing item first; expand later if you truly want site-wide sticky audio. Clear cache, test HTTPS, click Play once, then test again on a phone.

Sidebar playlist for sermons, seasons, or albums

Publish mod_rca_jukebox_playlist in a sidebar position your template exposes on article or blog layouts. Build the ordered list in the subform with one Media Manager file per row. Match sermon or episode order in the subform, not in filenames alone. Set Access to Public if guests should hear the series. Save, clear cache, and walk the list on the frontend to confirm track two plays after track one finishes or when selected, per the skin behavior you chose in parameters.

Archive grid for many titles

Create or use a library menu item with a full-width content area. Publish mod_rca_jukebox_grid in a position that spans the content width. Add tracks until each title you care about has a row. Preview on mobile before you publish the menu item to the world; reduce rows or adjust template spacing if buttons crowd each other.

Single track beside a product or lesson

Publish mod_rca_jukebox_item in a side column or inline position on one menu item. Select one audio file. If you sell the recording through J2Commerce, place your shop link or shortcode beside the module in the article or layout as you already would for commerce; checkout stays on J2Commerce while playback stays on Jukebox. Match Access on the module to who should preview audio.

Site-wide sticky bar without cluttering every layout

Use the main player module with sticky library behavior enabled. Assign Menu Assignment to the section of the site where listening should follow visitors, not necessarily every hidden system page. Keep playlist or grid modules off the same page unless you intend multiple players visible at once.

Day-to-day maintenance habits

Keep masters in Media Manager with clear folder names. Prefer MP3 for widest browser reach unless you have a reason for OGG or WAV. After template or PHP upgrades, retest one track on mobile and desktop. Do not reintroduce Dropbox choosers or Flash-era forks alongside this package.
