Integrations

Feed Factory integrates inward with com_content, Joomla scheduling, search subsystems, and optionally RCA Helix Compat. It does not replace remote publishers’ terms or Joomla core feed export.

Joomla core content and search

Imported items live in com_content with categories and publish state you map in Import2Content. Enable plg_finder_rca_feedfactory when Smart Search should index imports, and plg_search_rca_feedfactory when classic Search should. Re-index Smart Search after large batches if results look stale.

RCA Helix Compat optional pairing

RCA Helix Compat is a separate free plugin and does not replace Feed Factory. When Helix Format is On, Apply Helix blog format maps imported media to Helix video, gallery, and audio formats. That requires Feed Factory 6.0.18 or newer so the Helix Format fieldset appears in Import2Content. When Media Bridge is On, featured and intro images stay aligned between Helix and core on articles Feed Factory creates; image sync needs Feed Factory 6.0.17 or newer for extracted media events. Format problems and missing images are different switches inside Helix Compat; fix the right one.

RSS Factory Pro lineage

Feed Factory continues RSS Factory Pro with author permission documented in package CREDITS. Upgrade paths and attribution notes live in the ZIP and under media/com_rca_feedfactory/docs/. Magpie-based customizations from legacy installs do not carry forward.

What Feed Factory does not integrate

Feed Factory does not integrate as a outbound syndication replacement for Joomla format=feed, does not grant content rights from remote feeds, and does not install Helix or page builders. Pair those products separately when your site needs them.
