Most Compat behavior is automatic once the plugin is enabled and patches applied. The one everyday toggle administrators touch is story photo paste.
Open System → Plugins → System - RCA EasySocial Compat. Set Enable story photo paste to Yes when members should attach clipboard images with Ctrl+V or Cmd+V in the EasySocial story composer through EasySocial’s own photos uploader. Set it to No when you do not want the extra frontend script. Default is Yes on new installs.
Install-time patches apply when targets match. There is no per-patch switch in admin. Article stream ownership runs while the plugin is enabled. Emoji UI upgrades load when EasySocial emoticons are enabled site-wide. If emoticons are off in EasySocial, the picker upgrade has nothing to attach to.
For com_content article activity, Compat disables EasySocial article app stream_create and stream_update through stored parameters so Compat can create one stream row and update it in place. You do not edit those parameters by hand under normal use. Re-enabling Compat after a disable may require retesting article publish behavior.
Save the plugin, clear cache, hard-refresh the frontend, and test paste in the story composer with a real image on the clipboard, not a text link pretending to be an image.
