Quick Start

This quick start assumes J2Commerce works today without Conditional Products and that you can add a normal product to cart. If the shop is broken before rules exist, fix the shop first. Rules amplify a working cart; they do not repair a missing component install.

Install pkg_rca_condprod

Download or purchase pkg_rca_condprod version 1.0.10 or newer from https://recreatinganew.com. Open System → Install → Extensions and upload the ZIP. If the installer fails because J2Commerce is missing, install J2Commerce, then retry. The installer is supposed to refuse a silent half-install without the shop.

Enable the J2Commerce enforcement plugin

Open System → Plugins and enable J2Commerce - RCA Conditional Products. Without this plugin, rules you create in Components → Conditional Products exist in admin and do nothing on the storefront cart. That is the most common “it does not work” report, and it is configuration, not mystery.

Create one rule

Open Components → Conditional Products. Create a rule with a clear title. Set qualifying products to one SKU you will test, such as a membership or deposit product. Set dependent products to one add-on that must refuse until the qualifier is satisfied. Leave enabled on. Save, then re-open the rule and confirm both product lists stuck, especially after multi-select. Historical builds had rule-save bugs; current package expects re-open verification after every multi-select edit.

Smoke test cart behavior

On the front end, try to add the dependent alone. It must fail or refuse per ineligible behavior settings. Add the qualifying product according to your rule design, then add the dependent. It must succeed. Clear cart and repeat once so you trust the behavior is repeatable, not accidental session state.

Optional companions after enforcement works

Publish RCA Storefront Product Catalog with eligibility styling if you want locked cards to match cart refusal. Enable System - RCA Conditional Products OSB only if booking routes must stay closed until qualification. Configure RCA OSB to J2C Bridge sid_map only if a hold should land a mapped J2Commerce product in cart after qualification. Each optional piece layers on top of working cart enforcement.

Confirm success criteria

A dependent alone must refuse. The same dependent with qualifier satisfied must succeed. If Storefront is in the stack, locked look and cart refusal must agree for an unqualified shopper, and unlocked look and cart accept must agree for a qualified shopper. If those disagree, fix the J2Commerce Conditional Products plugin and rule before you touch Storefront CSS.
