Overview

RCA Conditional Products is the Pro enforcement layer for J2Commerce shops that sell gated add-ons. You define which qualifying products unlock which dependents. The J2Commerce plugin refuses cart and checkout lines that break your rules. An optional system plugin can keep OS Services Booking closed until the shopper qualifies. RCA Storefront can show the lock on catalog cards. This package makes the lock real at checkout, not just pretty CSS.

What this product is

RCA Conditional Products installs as package pkg_rca_condprod, documented here at version 1.0.10. PHP 8.2 or newer is required on this line. The package includes the Conditional Products administrator component for rule admin, J2Commerce - RCA Conditional Products for cart and checkout enforcement, and System - RCA Conditional Products OSB for optional booking route gating.

What Conditional Products is not

It is not a catalog renderer. That is RCA Storefront and the Product Catalog module. It is not a booking-to-cart map. That is RCA OSB to J2C Bridge sid_map after a valid hold. It does not take payment. J2Commerce checkout still processes cards and gateways. Conditional Products only decides whether line items are allowed.

How it differs from J2Commerce cross-sells

J2Commerce cross-sells, up-sells, customer group pricing, and access levels recommend products, adjust prices, or hide listings. They do not enforce prerequisite purchase in cart and checkout or gate OS Services Booking routes the way Conditional Products does through supported plugin events.

Who should use it

Use it when you sell memberships, deposits, or packages that unlock add-ons. Use it when booking must not open until a product rule is satisfied. Use it when RCA Storefront already shows locked dependents and you need the cart to tell the same story to shoppers who click through anyway.

When to skip it

Skip it if you only need locked-looking catalog cards and do not care whether checkout still sells the dependent. Storefront alone can do display without this package, and you should understand that the cart stays open. Skip it if you only need OSB service IDs mapped into J2Commerce cart after a hold without purchase rules; that is Bridge alone. Skip it if you do not run J2Commerce.

Where to go next

Quick start creates one rule and proves cart refusal. Configuration explains rule fields including cart versus order history eligibility. Integrations names RCA Storefront and RCA OSB to J2C Bridge by role so you do not swap them during debugging.
