Stripe plus J2Commerce generates repeat questions. Here are direct answers without SDK jargon.

Does this plugin bundle the Stripe PHP SDK?

No. It uses Stripe Checkout with server-side session creation for J2Commerce v6 without shipping an external SDK in the ZIP.

Where do I enable Apple Pay or BNPL?

In Stripe Dashboard payment methods and Checkout settings for your account. This plugin does not expose per-method toggles in Joomla.

What PHP version is required?

PHP 8.2 or newer for version 2.0.0 per manifest.

What webhook events matter?

Configure checkout.session.completed, checkout.session.async_payment_succeeded, and checkout.session.async_payment_failed on the endpoint URL shown in plugin options language guidance.

Can I stay in test mode on production?

You can, but you will not collect real money. Turn test mode off and switch to live keys before go-live unless your business model is impressing visitors with fake receipts.

Does uninstall delete orders?

No. Uninstall removes plugin files and parameters. J2Commerce order history remains.

Is this the old J2Store Stripe plugin?

No. This is plg_j2commerce_payment_stripe_rca for J2Commerce on Joomla 4 through 6. Legacy J2Store Stripe is a separate on-hold line.

What does support cover?

Plugin install, key and webhook configuration documented in this manual, and checkout redirect behavior. It does not cover Stripe account approval, chargebacks, or unrelated J2Commerce catalog setup.
