Requirements

If the stack below does not match your site, fix the stack first. This plugin does not install SP Page Builder for you.

Joomla and PHP

RCA SPPB Compat supports Joomla 4, Joomla 5, and Joomla 6 with PHP 8.1 or newer. You need Super User access, or equivalent rights, to install extensions and edit system plugins.

SP Page Builder

SP Page Builder must already be installed from JoomShaper. RCA does not ship SP Page Builder, JoomShaper licensing, or JoomShaper support. This Compat layer assumes SPPB is present before you install the plugin.

Media patches version window

Media patches are tested against SP Page Builder 6.3 through 6.6. Newer SPPB versions may still install but can show a target warning if file paths or contents moved. When that happens, note your SPPB version and the warning text before you email support. Do not hand-edit SP Page Builder core blindly.

Administrator access and backups

You need permission to install plugins and change plugin options. Take a normal site backup before you turn Media patches On, because that switch rewrites vendor files on disk when enabled.

What is not required

You do not need the old RCA SPPB Article Checkout or Config packages. You do not need to enable every switch. Sites that only want toolbar and Options fixes can leave Media patches Off and still use the event-based switches.
