What is RCA OSCampus Compat?
A free Bugfix system plugin that patches one OSCampus PHP file so PHP 8 does not fatal on a trait property mismatch during lesson edit. Install element rca_oscampus_compat.
Is this on the Joomla Extensions Directory?
No. JED disallows packages that modify another extension’s files. This product is documented as a free non-JED Bugfix with clear warnings on ReCreatingAnew.
What file does it change?
administrator/components/com_oscampus/library/oscampus/AbstractBase.php
Where is the backup?
AbstractBase.php.rca-orig beside the live file after first successful patch.
Does uninstall undo the hack?
Yes when .rca-orig still exists. Uninstall copies that backup over AbstractBase.php. If backup was deleted, uninstall cannot restore the original.
Do I reinstall after every OSCampus update?
Yes. OSCampus updates overwrite the patched file.
Will this fix every OSCampus problem on Joomla 6?
No. It targets one known AbstractBase typing fatal on the OSCampus 3.0.x line.
What do I need before install?
Joomla 4, 5, or 6, PHP 8.1 or newer, OSCampus installed, Super User access, and a site backup.
