Where it appears

Publish the module in your template’s documentation sidebar position. On RCA sites this is typically the left column beside the article body. The module outputs a single vertical list with classes mod-rca-menu-scope and mod-list.

Default styling

Shipped CSS (Web Asset Manager handle mod_rca_menu_scope.menu) targets narrow left columns: block layout, full-width links, wrapped long hub titles, distinct styling for section-level rows versus hub and article links. Templates that load Bootstrap nav rules on sidebar lists needed explicit column flex overrides; module 2.0.10+ addresses that for Helix/Fusion-style layouts.

Active and parent states

Items on the current page trail receive active classes consistent with core menu modules (active, parent markers where applicable). Template CSS for mod_menu may partially apply; test after template updates.

Customization

Use Module class suffix on the module instance for template-specific hooks. Override layout under templates/yourtemplate/html/mod_rca_menu_scope/ only if you need markup changes; prefer CSS for spacing and colors.

Do not re-add Bootstrap nav class to the root list in overrides unless you also restore column-direction CSS; horizontal flex will smear section labels onto one line.

Right column “On this page”

That navigation comes from the documentation template reading h2 and h3 in the article body, not from Menu Scope. Menu Scope covers movement between articles; the article covers movement inside one page.

Accessibility

Links are standard anchor elements with menu item titles. Keep menu item titles readable (short hub names on hidden-menu doc roots help). Avoid duplicating the entire tree as headings inside the article.
