Quick Start

This is the fastest honest path to hearing audio on your site: install the suite, publish one module, point it at one Media Manager file, click Play on HTTPS. You can add playlist, grid, and item modules later when you know which layouts you need.

Before you start

Confirm the site runs Joomla 4, 5, 6, or 7 with PHP 8.1 or newer. Confirm you can log in as a Super User or with equivalent rights to install extensions and publish modules. Download the Pro package ZIP for pkg_rca_jukebox from your RCA purchase or private download at https://recreatinganew.com. Current line is 2.0.3. Upload at least one MP3, OGG, or WAV to Media Manager before you open module settings. Dropbox is not part of this product; do not install pre-2.0 Flash-era ZIPs.

Install the package

Open System, then Install, then Extensions. Upload the pkg_rca_jukebox ZIP and wait for Joomla to report success. Open Content, Site Modules and confirm four RCA Jukebox modules exist: main player, playlist, grid, and item. You do not need to publish all four today.

Publish the main player first

Open the module

In Site Modules, open the RCA Jukebox main player module (mod_rca_jukebox). Set Status to Published when you are ready; you can stay Unpublished while you configure tracks.

Attach one track

Use the media fields and native subform the module provides. Point the first row at a file you uploaded to Media Manager. Save the module. Empty subform rows produce empty frontend output, so save only after at least one row has a real file.

Assign position and menu

Choose a module position your template actually renders on the page you will test. Set Menu Assignment so the module appears on that menu item only, unless you intend site-wide display. Save again.

Clear cache and test

Clear Joomla cache if caching is enabled. Open the assigned page on HTTPS in a modern browser. Click Play once with your mouse or finger. Mobile browsers often require a user tap before audio starts; that is normal browser policy, not a Jukebox defect.

You know it worked when

Audio plays from your Media Manager file without Flash, without mixed-content console errors, and the module shows the tracks you configured at the access level you chose. If you hear nothing, go to Troubleshooting and walk the list in order before you email support.
