FAQ

RCA AddMenuItem — FAQ

Why did my menu titles look like one long word with no spaces?

Versions before 1.0.12 used Joomla’s default cmd input filter on the title field when saving from the popup. That filter removes spaces. Upgrade to 1.0.12 or newer.

Does AMI change my article alias?

No. The popup loads the article alias for the Alias field. Saving applies normal Joomla menu alias handling; it does not rewrite your article alias in #__content.

How is this different from Joomla 6 Save to Menu on categories?

Joomla 6 can add category menu items from the category editor with list or blog layouts. That is category-only and follows core’s dropdown flow. RCA AMI supports multiple content types (including articles) and uses the three-step toolbar popup described in the user guide.

Is RCA AddMenuItem still maintained?

1.0.13 is the current retail free release (public update feed). 1.0.12 fixed menu title spacing in the article editor popup. JED listing status is separate from the free download on recreatinganew.com — see rca-product-catalog.csv.
